Michele Capozzi was raised in Genoa, Italy
where he acquired a Masters in Law, Bachelors in Social Science and an
appetite for sleaze in the ports and allies of the city.
He has lived in London
and Rome where he began his career in film production, working with
legendary directors such as Brian DePalma, Lewis Gilbert of
the James Bond Series, Barry Gordy and Daniel Mann.
In 1978, he moved to New
York City found a boat to live on and began giving tours ranging from the
ethnic to the erotic as the infamous “Urban Explorer” and
self-declared Pornologist.
During this time he used
his skills as a filmmaker and street sage to create segments for television
stations RAI and Mediaset in Italy and the
documentary T.V. Transvestite with Simone di Bagno
(1982).
He produced the first
video project for Libido Magazine (1999) and the last five
films for Candida Royalle and Femme Productions
(1996-2003).
In addition, he works as
a journalist in New York and Italy for various publications such as
Playmen, Italian Video XXX and Blue .
Various schools and
universities have invited him as guest lecturer on topics ranging from
diversity in New York City to pornography.
His most recent projects
include curating Videoguida XXX the first Italian resource
guide for adult entertainment and a soon to be released documentary on the
New York underworld. |
